Oscar and Grammy Award winner A R Rahman is leading in the nominations for Global India Music Academy (GIMA) Awards. A R Rahman's exceptional work in Hindi movie Ranbir Kapoor Starrer 'Rockstar' made him to get nominated for 7 awards.

2. Best Background Score
3. Best Playback Singer Male along with Javed Ali
4. Best Playback Singer Male along with Mohit Chauhan
5. Best Music Director
6. Best Film Song
7. Best Film Album
AR Rahman is most busiest and wanted music director in India. At present Rahman is working in the films with top directors and actors like Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Kochadaiyaan', Mani Ratnam's 'Kadal', Shankar's 'I' and Gautham Vasudev Menon's and 'Yohan Adhyayam Ondru'.
