A research led by Zinnov Management Consulting and an IT firm EMC
Corporation has found that cloud computing in India can create up to
one lakh jobs in an industry worth $4.5 billion.
THE RATE with which technology keeps on expanding, in all likeliness,
cloud computing may create close to 100,000 jobs in India by 2015, as
stated by media reports. The research led by Zinnov Management
Consulting and an IT firm EMC Corporation noticed that of the
projected $4.5-billion total cloud computing market in India by 2015,
private cloud will account for $3.5 billion, generate about 100,000
additional jobs and save about 50 per cent of cost of IT operations
for Indian enterprises.
Explaining the research findings furthermore, Zinnov's Chief Executive
Pari Natarajan was quoted saying that there will be an increased
preference of cloud adoption over the next five years in India. The
total cloud market, which was about $400 million in 2010, is expected
to grow by a whopping 60 per cent annually with private cloud
dominating the landscape.
However, the research also noticed that Indian companies in
partnership are better armed for enterprise services and other
companies would have to focus on its investing and building on the
competency levels because as of now, they are not prepared to take on
the challenges, when compared with the established players.
Natarajan was also quoted saying that cloud computing will reshape the
Indian IT market by generating new opportunities for vendors and
driving changes in traditional IT offerings.
