Educational Buzz: 17 Countries now recognise Indian Engineering Degrees

Good news for holders of Indian Engineering Degrees . Engineering graduates can now easily apply to foreign universities of take advantage of international prospects as engineering degrees of India will now be recognized across 17 major countries. India has now become the permanent member of the Washington Accord which would mean access to countries like US, Japan, Australia. Washington Accord is an international agreement for accrediting undergraduate engineering degree programmes.

Although pass outs of IITs have not yet faced a problem in terms moving on and being accepted to colleges abroad but that is the least we can say about graduates from the other engineering colleges present in the country.

The Washington Accord aims at encouraging mobility and quality assurance across countries. Becoming a member of the Washington Accord implies that the engineering students of India are meeting the academic requirements necessary to take practice of engineering in any of the signatory countries.

Smriti Irani, HRD Minister was quoted by The Economic Times, having congratulated the officials of HRD ministry, "This will ensure highest quality assurance standards to be implemented in our technical and engineering programmes and provide global mobility to our engineering graduates. Graduates having degrees, which have been so accredited, would have substantial international equivalence of their achievement levels across the signatory nations. This will substantially enhance their employment opportunities around the world."

The efforts to be part of this have been going on since 2002, although a serious effort was only made by the Kapil Sibal, former HRD Minister, by including granting of autonomous status to the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) as it is necessary to have a national accreditation system by the Washington Accord to be a member.

You will certainly want to get rid of this issue so that you are able to download more apps and enjoy them on your device.

How To Fix Insufficient Storage Available In Android Smartphones

Here are the best methods that can be followed to overcome the message of "Insufficient Storage Space".

Use Lucky Patcher App

The Lucky Patcher is one of the best apps that can be used to overcome the problem of insufficient storage space. This app is free and can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.

If the above method does not work, you can follow the next method which is discussed below.

Step 1 – Before you begin with the process, you need to download and install the Java Development Kit on your PC.

Step 2 – Next download the Android SDK

Step 3 – Go to the Start Menu, type "cmd", right click on it and run as administrator. A dialog box will appear before you, just click yes.

Step 4 – Now in command prompt, type "cd C:Program Files (x86)Androidandroid-sdkplatform-tools".

Step 5 – Take your Android devices in hand, look for Settings option, go to Applications and then find the option of Development. Enable the USB debugging option and connect your phone to the PC via data cable

Step 6 – Follow the below commands; adb shell pm getInstallLocation and assign 3 location values

0 [auto] – This will be given by the system

1 [internal] – Install your application in the phone memory

2 [external] – Install your application in SD card

These are the three settings that you have to make. Once these are done, you can now change the location to 2 [external] which is your SD card. In this way, you will be able to install any number of applications because now all the apps will be saved on the SD card. Disconnect your phone from the PC so that you are able to use the device to install the apps.

Tech Buzz:Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4, Galaxy Tab S 10.5 With AMOLED Displays Launched

New tablet computers from Samsung will feature screens that are richer in color than standard LCDs.These screens, known as AMOLED for active-matrix organic light-emitting diodes, are already found in smartphones made by Samsung and a few other manufacturers.

samsung_galaxy_tab_s_01_ap.jpg

Samsung Electronics Co. is trying to change that with its upcoming line of Android tablets, called the Galaxy Tab S. On Thursday, Samsung announced two such models, with screens of 8.4 inches (Galaxy Tab S 8.4) and 10.5 inches (Galaxy Tab S 10.5), as measured diagonally.

The tablets will start selling in the U.S. in July at $400 (roughly Rs. 23,772) for the smaller model and $500 (roughly Rs. 29,720) for the larger one - the same as comparable iPads. Models with 4G LTE cellular (Galaxy Tab S 8.4 LTE, Galaxy Tab S 10.5 LTE) access are expected later in the year.

Samsung is the world's second-largest maker of tablets, behind Apple and its trend-setting iPads. In recent years, Samsung has been gaining market share - at Apple's expense - by offering a wide range of sizes and quality.

Tech Buzz: Android Silver, which is touted as replacement for the Nexus series

tweet from the @Android handle has set the rumour mill abuzz about the next Google phone that could be an Android Silver, which is touted as replacement for the Nexus series, or a fresh new phone.

The tweet says "Android makes even the most difficult grocery store choices simple." But what has piqued the curiosity of android fans and tech enthusiasts is the fact that the phone that is shown in the accompanying image is neither a Nexus nor a Motorola device. It has no branding. Understandably enough, the tweet has set the internet abuzz with talk of a new Google phone that has possibly been teased via this tweet.

Google phone

S

Since there has already been a healthy amount of speculation regarding the new Android Silver for some time now, this tweet could be an indication that Google might come up with a new line-up in the near future.

Nexus 5, which was launched last year, is supposed to be the last device in the Nexus series. At the same time, Motorola has also launched its Moto X, Moto G and Moto E while being under the world's largest search engine. Motorola is no longer a Google company as Lenovo has acquired it, so the possibility of the tweeted picture being either a Motorola device or the next Nexus handset is bleak.

"This has been one of the major e-governance projects for IOC and has not only helped us enhance overall transparency in LPG cylinder booking and real-time reporting...but also faster problem resolution and better experience for the consumers," Indian Oil Corporation Executive Director (LPG) A N Jha said.

Tech Buzz:The Moto Stream: A simple way of playing music with friends

A mere $50 gets you a good Bluetooth music streaming device from Motorola

This, folks, is the Moto Stream. It's a Bluetooth device that kicks music from your phone into a proper set of speakers. And that's all it is. It's not the Nexus Q reborn. For one, it's much smaller. And while it's cute in that icosahedronic sort of way, it just doesn't have the same feel that the Nexus Q did. Yes, both flash lights at you, but the Motorola Stream does so in a more muted, understated way. Not in that same sort of "Take me to your leader" way.

What the Moto Stream is, we'll tell you, is about $250 cheaper than the Nexus Q — which by the way was never actually sold — and is available now from Motorola for $49.99.

When one device takes over for another, the colors change.

Never mind the design — there's really no reason to overthink this device. It's a basic Bluetooth streamer that allows up to five devices to pair at once. (If you've ever used the BlackBerry Music Gateway, it's sort of like that.) Each gets its own color code, and each can interrupt the playback from any of the other connected devices. When they do so, their color will flash on the four front-facing panels. You'll have to know what your color is if you care about who's streaming, of course.

Mumbai Metro Started services: Maharashtra CM Prithivraj Chavan flags off Mumbai Metro

The Mumbai metro will finally started commercial operations from Sunday, June 8, after a delay of three years, providing much-needed relief to commuters in the bustling metropolis where the overburdened suburban railways ferries seven lakh people every day.

Services on the 11.4 KM Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar stretch (Phase 1 of the project) will see trains available every four minutes, Mumbai Metro One Pvt Ltd (MMOPL) Chief Executive Abhay Mishra said on Saturday.

The announcement by the operator came after local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Krit Somaiya threatened to start metro services by "force". For a city where the sight of harried passengers clinging precariously to doors and windows of overcrowded coaches of suburban trains is common, the metro will give a new travel experience.

The company has said it will operate 200-250 services a day, carrying around 11 lakh passengers. Every coach can carry 375 passengers and the entire train can transport 1,500 commuters.

The metro service comes four months after the city got the country's first monorail between suburban Chembur and Wadala on February 1 this year. The MMOPL has fixed a minimum fare of Rs 10 and a maximum Rs 40 for a one way journey, Mishra said.

The Maharashtra government earlier notified a fare band of Rs 9 to Rs13 but the MMOPL demanded high fares, citing cost escalation in the three-phase project, work on which began nearly eight years ago.

MMOPL is a joint venture company formed by Reliance Infrastructure, Veolia Transport and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority.

The Railway Board had on Thursday given its green signal for commencement of the services.
