A R Rahman's 46th Birthday Today
New Delhi: Nicknamed 'The Mozart of Madras' by the media, AR Rahman celebrates his 46th birthday on January 6, looking back on a magical career that includes two Oscars, two Grammy Awards, a BAFTA, a Golden Globe and four National Film Awards.
Rahman has his hands full, composing the music for four Indian films this year – Tamil movies 'Yohan' and Rajinikanth starrer 'Kochadaiyaan', Bollywood
movie 'Deewana Tha' and one with filmmaker Bharat Bala.
Most recently, Rahman joined forces with Rolling Stones legend Mick Jagger on SuperHeavy, a supergroup also featuring Joss Stone, Dave Stewart and Damian Marley. An Honorary Fellow of the Trinity College of Music, Rahman is a recipient of the Padma Bhushan, and was named as one of the 'World's Most Influential People' by Time in 2009.
