RRC South Eastern Railway Recruitment 2012-13 for 2461 Group D Posts
RRC Kolkata Recruitment 2013: South Eastern Railway, Kolkata has
released notification for various posts like Helper, Trackman etc.
There are 2461 vacant posts in SE Railway. Other details like Age
limit, Qualification, selection procedure are given below:

Details of the Posts :
1. Track Man (Engineering) - 313 Posts (UR – 156 ; OBC – 87 ; SC – 47 ; ST – 23)
2. Points Man – B (Operating) - 661 Posts (UR – 331 ; OBC – 181 ; SC –
100 ; ST – 49)
3. Helper II (Engineering,Electrical,Mechanical) – 815 Posts (UR – 408
; OBC – 224 ; SC – 122 ; ST – 61)
4. Helper II (Workshop & Stores) - 666 Posts (UR – 336 ; OBC – 180 ;
SC – 100 ; ST – 50)
5. Station Peon (Commercial Work Shop) - 06 Posts (UR – 03 ; OBC – 01
; SC – 01 ; ST – 01)

Educational Qualification : 10th Pass or ITI or equivalent. Candidates
who are appearing at and/or awaiting results of final
examination of class 10th on the last date of of application
are not eligible to apply. Academic qualification must be from a
recognized Educational Institution / Board/University, otherwise
candidature shall be rejected. Candidates having higher
educational qualification may also apply.
Age Limit : 18 – 33 years as on 01.01.2013 (Relaxation : SC/ST – 5 yrs
; OBC – 3 yrs)

Selection Procedure : Selection will be based on MERIT only. First
there will be Written Examination. Candidates to a limited extent, in
order of merit, out of those who obtained the prescribed minimum pass
marks in Written Examination will be called for Physical Efficiency
Test (PET). Those who will qualify in the Physical Efficiency Test
(PET) will have to go through the original document verification.
Candidates who will found eligible after Physical Efficiency Test
(PET) will be called for Medical Examination of relevant standard as
shown against each category of post at Page-1 of this notification.
There will be no interview.

Syllabus for Examination : The question paper for the written
examination shall be based on Class 10th standard consisting of
multiple choice objective type questions aimed to assess General
Knowledge/Awareness, Mathematics and Reasoning etc. There will be no
question for checking proficiency in language. Questions will be in
Hindi, English, Oriya, Urdu and Bengali.

Examination fee : Rs.40/- For General and OBC Candidates (NO Fee for
SC/ST/Women/PH/minorities and economically backward classes
having income less than Rs 50,000/‐ p.a) – The Examination fee
should be paid in the form of crossed Demand Draft from State Bank Of
India or any other Nationalized Bank or crossed IPO from any Post
Office drawn in favour of the "FA&CAO, South Eastern Railway, 11
Garden Reach Road , Kolkata-700043 payable at "KOLKATA".
