- Karn Sharma, an uncapped leg-spinner who played for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2013, sparked a bidding war. Eventually, it was his old team, the Sunrisers Hyderabad, who went as far as they could to secure his services for Rs 3.75 crore.
- KXIP went all out to strengthen their pace attack by getting Rishi Dhawan for Rs 3 crore.
- When players, who went UNSOLD on Day 1, were brought back for bidding, the spinner-less squad of KXIP quickly snapped up Murali Karthik for the base price of Rs 1 crore.
- Another one of those purchases was that of Ross Taylor who was ignored on Day 1. In this case, the Kiwi middle-order batsman was bought by Delhi Daredevils for his base price of Rs 2 crore.
