Tech Buzz:Samsung launches Galaxy W in the range of Rs 28,800

Samsung has launched, Galaxy W, a smartphone with a 7-inch display in the South Korean market. It has been launched at 4,99,400 KRW (Rs 28,800 approximately).

While a 7-inch device falls under the tablets segment, Samsung has made the bezel thinner to reduce the size to facilitate one hand operation.

The Galaxy W does not come with premium hardware. It sports a 720p display and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and 1.5GB RAM.

The phone sports an 8MP rear camera and 2MP front-facing camera, 16GB internal storage, microSD card slot, and 3200mAh battery.

It runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, an old version of the operating system. The phone will be available in black, white and red colour variants.

It's not known if Samsung will launch Galaxy W in other markets. Before the launch of this smartphone, Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 was the company's biggest phone. Mega 6.3 sports a 6.3-inch display.
