Allahbad High Court Decision on UPTET 2011

Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Department has come out with a latest notification regarding UP Teachers Recruitment Examination (Basic) - 2011. Some changes have been made in earlier notifications as per instructions from Hon'ble Allahbad High Court.Detailed Instructions regarding selection process have been given in the notification (No. DE/2073-22/2011-12 Dated 19/12/2011) issued by Directorate Education (Basic) Utter Pradesh.

In UPTET 2011 original notification, State Government has notified that the candidates who have passed Teacher's Eligibility Test (TET) can apply from not more than five districts. Sarita Shukla and others challanged the same in Allahbah High Court through a writ petition on the ground that selection process was to be conducted district wise, therefore, candidates should be allowed to apply only from their home districts or from anywhere within the state. Hon'ble High Court accepted the plea and directed the state government to come out with a new notification, allowing candidates to apply from anywhere within the state.
In view of the above, the state government has come out with a fresh notification (No. DE/2073-22/2011-12 Dated 19/12/2011) issued by Directorate Education (Basic) Utter Pradesh. The selection process will remain as per the earlier notification.
